Proteomics Facility

The Proteomics Facility at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) provides researchers with access to a range of specialist services to support translational research.

Support from the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre & Dementia Unit (BRC/U) has enabled us to invest in cutting-edge spectroscopy equipment, making us one of the first academic institutions to provide researchers with access to pharmaceutical-grade instrumentation for biomarker research.

By comparing biochemical changes in samples such as blood or urine from patients and healthy individuals, researchers can look for new biomarkers to help develop better tests for diagnosing illness or measuring a patient's response to drug treatments.

Researchers wishing to find out more about services offered by the Proteomics Facility can contact Dr Malcolm Ward.
