Rob Stewart is Professor of Psychiatric Epidemiology and Clinical Informatics at King’s College London and a practising Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Rob has been Academic Lead for the CRIS data platform at the NIHR Maudsley BRC since its inception in 2007.

Under his co-leadership with Matthew Broadbent, CRIS has grown to international prominence and influence, both as a technical infrastructure to enable research using information from health records and as a governance infrastructure with a central role for patients and carers in strategic direction and oversight. CRIS has successfully supported over 400 research publications, numerous projects supported by all major research funders, and the career development of generations of researchers. 

Rob has led clinical informatics themes for the BRC over two 5-year terms and is Deputy Lead for the Informatics Theme in the BRC’s current funding period.
