Professor Roland Zahn is a Professor of Mood Disorders & Cognitive Neuroscience at King’s College London and Consultant Psychiatrist at the Maudsley Affective Disorders Treatment Services. He is the deputy lead of the BRC Psychosis and Mood Disorders Theme. His work focuses on understanding how symptoms of mood disorders can be explained on the basis of individual differences in the cognitive and neuroanatomical architecture of social knowledge and motivations. His lab also works on innovative risk prediction tools, assessment methods, and personalised treatments based on these insights. As joint director of the Centre for Affective Disorders at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) with Professor Anthony Cleare, he seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaboration within the IoPPN to improve the understanding and treatment of affective disorders.
