Ubrogepant found to be effective at reducing non-headache related symptoms of migraine

New research from King’s College London has found that ubrogepant – a drug used to manage migraine attacks – can effectively reduce the non-headache related symptoms when taken one to six hours prior to a migraine headache beginning.

As part of NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC)’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy we have appointed 14 representatives to support our work. The NIHR Maudsley BRC themes and core programmes each have an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) lead researcher. They are responsible for championing local EDI initiatives.

NIHR Maudsley BRC receives new investment from Government

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) has awarded £41 million to the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London. The NIHR funding is for five years from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2027.

‘Drug related deaths are avoidable’ - South London and Maudsley and King's College London mark International Overdose Awareness Day 2022

Maudsley Hospital, King’s College London’s National Addiction Centre, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience main building, and The Weston Education Centre will light up purple to raise awareness for International Overdose Awareness Day 2022 and share the message that drug related deaths are avoidable.
