This event, organised by the NIHR BRC: Maudsley’s Child Mental Health and Neurodevelopmental Disorders theme, will bring together leading academics, clinicians and experts by experience to explore how interactions between the brain and body shape child mental health and neurodevelopment. The programme will cover a range of topics, including:
- Integrated care for children and young people
- Early life programming and brain development
- Immune vulnerability and inflammation
- Novel participatory approaches to research with children and young people.
Through keynote presentations, research talks and panel discussions, attendees will gain insights into how mind-body approaches can advance research, inform clinical practice and improve outcomes for children and young people.
The conference will provide a valuable opportunity for academics, clinicians, students and experts by experience to learn about emerging discoveries, exchange ideas and connect with others working across child mental health, neurodevelopment and physical health research.
Call for Abstracts
The conference organising committee also invites poster abstract submissions presenting completed or ongoing research related to children and young people’s mental health and neurodevelopment, reflecting the conference theme Childhood Mental Health & Neurodevelopmental Conditions Through a Mind-Body Lens.
We welcome submissions from a broad range of disciplines and sectors, including research, clinical practice, education, public health, policy and lived experience.
The work does not need to be entirely novel, provided it is recent. This is an opportunity to share research, service evaluations, quality improvement projects, innovations in practice, or emerging findings with colleagues working across children’s mental health. Work that has been recently presented elsewhere, accepted for publication, or is currently in preparation is also welcome.
We particularly welcome submissions from PhD students, Early Career Researchers and research-active clinicians.
