Non-clinical doctoral training

Non-clinical PhD Studentships in experimental medicine and translational research in mental health and neuroscience

We provide PhD studentships (3 or 4 years) and research training for students with a background in neuroscience; psychology; biological science; social science; physical science; computer science; mathematics; physics; health informatics; bioinformatics; data science; machine learning or software development; who wish to study in any of the areas of the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) research portfolio.

Most Maudsley BRC researchers, staff and students are based at the IoPPN at the King’s College London Denmark Hill campus which is adjacent to the Maudsley Hospital.  Within this setting we offer the opportunity to join a thriving group of interdisciplinary researchers with internationally recognised supervisors and we ensure our students benefit from an understanding of the context of their research, producing scientists with a strong translational ethos.

All students are registered at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King's College London.
