Concentrated naloxone nasal spray as good as injection

A new study published by the scientific journal Addiction has found that a concentrated 2mg intranasal naloxone spray delivers naloxone as effectively, over the critical first 15 minutes, as the standard 0.4mg intramuscular (IM) naloxone injection. The research was co-authored by Professor Sir John Strang and Dr Rebecca McDonald, National Addiction Centre, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London.

First network analysis of patient flow in two UK hospitals published

Researchers at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, have used network science to analyse patient flow through a hospital for the first time in a UK health system.

Professor Oliver Howes receives Royal College of Psychiatrists Award

Oliver Howes, Professor of Molecular Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, and the London Institute of Medical Sciences, Imperial College London, was yesterday (6 November) named R N Jajoo Memorial Academic Researcher of the Year at the Royal College of Psychiatrists Awards.
