NIHR Maudsley BRC receives new investment from Government

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) has awarded £41 million to the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London. The NIHR funding is for five years from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2027.

SURE Recovery App – two years on after its launch

In 2019, NIHR Maudsley BRC and the charity Action on Addiction launched the SURE Recovery App, designed to help people recovering from alcohol and other drug problems. To mark International Recovery Day 2021 on 30th September, we are taking a retrospective look at the creation of the App and how it has evolved over the last two years.

NIHR Fellowship awarded to Dr Brendon Stubbs for research in persistent pain and serious mental illness

Dr Brendon Stubbs, Head of Physiotherapy at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) and Senior Clinical Lecturer at the IoPPN, has been awarded a new five year National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Advanced Fellowship of £916,000.

CogStack wins an Artificial Intelligence in Health and Care Award

Cogstack is an information retrieval, extraction and natural language processing platform developed by researchers at the NIHR Maudsley BRC and King’s College Hospital in partnership with the University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust BRC. This innovative technology uses artificial intelligence to reveal important data locked in patient’s health records to support clinical decision making and healthcare research.
