Increased air pollution exposure during midlife may harm brain health as we age
A new study led by researchers from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London, and part-funded by NIHR Maudsley BRC, has found that exposure to higher levels of air pollution during mid-life is associated with slower processing speed, lower scores on a cognitive screening tool, and differences in brain structure later in life.
