Data linkages animation explores the evolution of healthcare records in research

A new three-minute animation aimed at the public explains how the use of health records for research purposes has evolved over time. The CRIS team, mental health service users, and researchers involved in data linkage projects have created an accessible video to help explain the technical process of ‘Data Linkage’ to the general public.

ACE inhibitors and ARBs not associated with severity of Coronavirus

Researchers have found ACE inhibitors (a type of blood pressure medicine commonly used in patients with high blood pressure or diabetes) and ARBs (used to treat heart failure and high blood pressure) did not increase the severity of COVID-19 disease in patients in two hospitals.

Growing numbers of alcohol related hospital admissions linked to local spending cuts

A new BRC supported study by King’s College London has shown an association between increases in alcohol related hospital admissions and decreases in spending on alcohol services since they came under the responsibility of local authorities in 2012.
