2018 Takeover Challenge

The NIHR Maudsley BRC's Youth Award-winning students would like to invite you to join them during their Youth Takeover Challenge on Friday 23 November.

The BRC Youth Awards are part of the IoPPN Youth Awards, which are offered by the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London. The Awards aim to encourage young people (aged 15-18) from schools in the local area to stay in science and maths education and go on to study these subjects at university. They began in 2013 and have been steadily increasing in number ever since.

The students have produced a 'game show' style event along the lines of 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire', featuring some of our favourite clinical academics - Dr Johnny Downs, Dr Faith Matcham, Dr Anna Kolliakou and Dr Sumithra Velupillai - taking up the hot seats!

Please join us at the Social Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry Centre in Denmark Hill for teas, coffees and cake from 16.00, with the game show starting promptly at 16.00. The students will also be presented with their awards at the event. RSVP via Eventbrite.

As part of the Takeover Challenge the students will also be running a research engagement stall at canteen of the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience and conducting a podcast interview with Professor Matthew Hotopf, Director of the BRC.
