Global study pinpoints genes for depression across ethnicities

Researchers at King's College London and University of Edinburgh have identified new genetic risk factors for depression across all major global populations for the first time, allowing scientists to predict risk of depression regardless of ethnicity.

Cannabis use increases risk of psychosis independently from genetic predisposition

New research from King’s College London and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust has shown that genetic load for schizophrenia and frequent use of cannabis have independent links to the likelihood of developing clinical psychosis.

£1.3M awarded to South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust for cutting-edge research equipment and technology

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) has awarded £1.3 million to South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust to pay for new research equipment and technology. The funding will go towards a new Centre for Advanced Neurotherapeutics, a Digital and Virtual Reality Centre and Hub, and retinography equipment.
